July 10: garden before all star game

Due to the likelihood that the All-Star games about to take place in Cincinnati will prevent us from parking easily, I opted to make my way to the garden again this evening...before things get crazy beginning tomorrow. I'm including a few pictures below that will provide at least some idea regarding the ongoing process.

July 7: survey info

After waiting for and occasionally prodding the surveyor I hired to establish the information needed to determine the exact placement of our new house in the existing location, a month and a half went by. At the end of that timeframe, we knew little more than we did beforehand. He seemed to make a point of dealing only with the most basic information...never enough to determine the most critical measurements. I finally opted to dismiss that surveyor and to hire another. The new surveyor arrived on site about one week after I hired him and within only a few days he provided us the totality of information we needed first thing this morning.
Barbara and I made our way to the site by noon and, given the newly acquired information from the survey, we again planted flags at the locations of specific points of the anticipated house. It certainly appears as though we'll have a relatively clear path in the development of the basement portion of the house. In any case, we're most pleased to have received such great news!

July 14: big storm

Keith's picture of the storm damage to our tomatoes yesterday. Within a half block behind here on Grandview, a neighbor's house was really hurt by a falling tree.

June 24 and July 5: garden bounty and growth

Made my way back to the garden this afternoon. I
harvested and found homes for 8 or 9 squash. Most of the eggplant have developed flowers. Nearly all the tomato plants measure four feet or greater high...with most plants having developed fruit. I'll upload a few photos showing what I found today.

A quick stop at the garden this morning in the way to some other destinations...
